The Lookstand 1.0 revolutionized phone stands. However, admittedly, the detachable mount and bracket were not the easiest to detach from the phone. Hearing the feedback and absorbing the advice, the Lookstand 2.0 is now 25% easier to detach. The Detach Mount is slimmer and much easier to dislocate or attach from the device with simple slide-down functionality.

The Lookstand 2.0 offers increased strength and long term durability. The shaft at the base now has a stronger hold and an extra spring allows for a firmer rotation. The bolts on the hinges have also been fixed.

Now the Lookstand patented models can remain attached to the back of the device. When you are ready to go, you don’t leave it behind, just simply collapse it. The stands can now vary up heights from as low as 3.5 in (9 cm) to as tall as 7.1 in (18 cm). The medium height is 4.7 in (12 cm). This offers choices of varying preset heights so you can adjust the stand to your desired position.

The attached mount can tilt up to 120 degrees. It rotates as needed for a full 360 degrees if you need to flip the display of the image. Operating the Lookstand

Operating the Lookstand is simple. It can operate as a kickstand for your device or a grip. The Specs

The Lookstand 2.0 is suitable for cell phones and weighs at a mere 1.6 oz (46 g) and measures 1.2 in x 3.7 in x 0.2 in (30 x 93 x 6.9 mm). It is designed from the AL6061 aluminum alloy, and is available in 5 colors including black, gold, steel, red, and blue.

The Lookstand Max, perfect for tablets, is lightweight in its own right, coming in at only 2.9 oz (85 g), with dimensions of 1.7 in x 3.9 in x 0.4 in (42 x 99 x 9.5 mm). It is similarly designed from an AL6051 Aluminum alloy, and is available in red, steel, or black color choices.

A Brief History

The Lookstand idea was born in September of 2018 and was subsequently researched by a market & target group in October of that year. By November, the design for the initial prototype was ready, and it was out in December.

The testing for stability and durability started in January of 2019, with design improvements completed by May 2019. In July 2019 the Lookstand was ready for pre-production, and by October, a supply chain was ready. The 1st Kickstarter campaign began in November.

The second Kickstarter campaign began in October 2020, and shipping of devices will kick off in January of 2021.

The Lookstand 2.0 campaign offers the Early Bird Lookstand 2.0 (suitable for cell phones) for a 20% discount from the retail price. This is available to those pledging $39 or more to the campaign. If you are seeking a couple of units, you may want to consider the double Lookstand 2.0 tier offered at a 25% discount for donors of $73 or more.

The next tier is the Early Bird Lookstand MAX. It includes the tablet ready Lookstand MAX with a 17% discount off the retail price for contributions of $49 and upwards. Two Lookstand Max models will require a $89 or higher campaign contribution, getting a 25% discount.

Interested in one of each for a 27% discount? Pledging $79 or more can get you one of each type of Lookstand. Two of each, you say? How about a 33% discount for $145 or more of a contribution.
